If I could bottle the feeling of my wedding weekend and keep it forever, I would. Somewhere between the vineyards, pizza slices, hot tubs, and barefoot dancing under the stars – I got married! And where better to celebrate love than in the heart of Robertson, South Africa’s understated winelands gem.

Check-in at theLab Robertson & Relaxing into the Weekend
We arrived on Friday and checked in at theLab Robertson, a modern, eco-conscious guesthouse that speaks our language. Think sleek, voice-activated rooms, to impress my tech-loving husband and lush greenery, with a peaceful poolside that practically begged us to slow down.
Our stay included a hearty breakfast each morning (think farm fresh ingredients and delicious bottomless coffee), setting the tone for a delicious weekend ahead.
Saturday Sips: Graham Beck & Saggy Stone
With our crew in tow, we set off for a wine-and-beer-filled day of tastings and togetherness.
First stop: Graham Beck – because nothing says “we’re doing this!” like a glass (or three) of South Africa’s most iconic sparkling wine.
Then, we made our way to Saggy Stone – a rustic brewery with chilled vibes and craft beer to match. It was the perfect pre-wedding hangout – nothing too fancy, just friends, sunshine, and laughter.

Sunday: Cruising to our Check-in at Beuld the Venue with Friends & Family
Sunday was all about gathering our tribe.
We checked into Beuld the Venue with our friends and family – a major bonus of booking a wedding here is that two nights’ accommodation is included for your entire wedding party. This turned our big day into a full weekend experience, and it was glorious.
Before the check-in time, we decided to make the most of our morning in wine country with a visit to two of Robertson’s best attractions.
We started the morning off at Viljoensdrift by taking a journey down the Breede River, surrounded by the natural beauty of indigenous trees and vibrant birdlife accompanied by snacks and mimosas.
From there, the next stop was Van Loveren – this family friendly wine farm boasts a gorgeous garden and tasting room, as well as hiking, birdwatching and a restaurant. Our group kept growing as the morning progressed and soon it was check-in time at our wedding venue.

The afternoon rolled in slowly, full of laughter and last-minute details. For dinner, we kept it cosy with wood-fired pizzas from Bourbon Street – perfect for a casual evening surrounded by the people we love.
Monday: The Wedding Day at Beuld – Catered by Ragazzi

The big day.
Monday arrived with soft sunshine and a sense of calm excitement. Beuld’s backdrop of vineyards, mountains, and minimalist elegance created the dreamiest canvas for our wedding. Every little detail felt right – from the ceremony under the sky to the heartfelt toasts and tequila-fuelled dance floor moments.
And the food? An absolute highlight! We were spoiled by a wedding feast catered by Ragazzi. Their dishes are absolutely amazing, for our wedding we chose 6 canapés for starters (fresh oysters, lobster rolls, mini pizzas, spicy mince tacos with guac, vegetable wontons with hummus, beef short-rib crostini). For dinner, guests had a choice between Beef fillet, served with pressed potato, beets, pepper jus; OR, Linefish, served with parsley pesto, grilled aubergine, pickled beets; OR, Green Curry of Vegetables, served with coconut rice & sambals. For dessert we served cheesecake and chocolate mousse.
The food really brought warmth, flavour and flair to our celebration – fresh, honest food that left our guests blown away.
Tuesday: Farewell Brunch at Four Cousins
After the joy (and slight haze) of our magical wedding day, we closed off the weekend with a farewell brunch at Four Cousins. The setting is relaxed, the food & service is comfort-filled, and it gave us the perfect soft landing before heading home to Cape Town.

Do I Recommend a Robertson Wedding Weekend?
I do. I do. I do. Robertson surprised me with how effortlessly it held space for both stillness and celebration. From clinking glasses at Graham Beck to laughing over slices of pizza, to the moment we said our vows surrounded by mountains and people we love – it was pure magic.
Whether you’re planning a wedding, a romantic getaway, or just a weekend of good food and better wine, Robertson might just be your happy place too.
With love,
Newly Mrs Andreas-Adams
